Romans 10:9-10
9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will
be saved.
10 For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
This is quite long but well worth
reading, trust me.
You know as born again Christians even we can often struggle to believe
it's that simple.
The enemy also will whisper nonsense to you:-
'you don't believe that do you, no,
don't bother with that Jesus guy,
you keep trying your best, you'll be alright, you'll go to heaven.'
Yeah right. all satan wants is for you to join him and if you
have not accepted Jesus that's exactly what you'll do.
It's surprising, and had this confirmed on an Alpha Course session, how
before people accepted Jesus, they thought they already were a
Christian. For various reasons, you know, like their parents taking
them to church when they were young, being baptized etc.
But what does Jesus himself declare to us all:-
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Jesus was not
referring to physical, but spiritual. We have a spirit in
us, body, mind, soul etc.
After we die it's the spirit that goes on, and unless you have Jesus
you'll be judged accordingly and sent to hell, which will make Iraq
seem like a paradise, trust me on that, 50 times so,
okay.
So what evidence I hear you cry, what are the proofs, well, probably be
long as usual, but if you stay with me, then I'll show you, and me,
good for me too, that it's clearly by faith that all the prophets and
Jesus and us must operate on to ever come close to pleasing God to the
fullest extent, with me, never mind, read on, be prepared if not born
again to be shocked.
Whether your Catholic, or non believers anyway, in fact no matter what
church, denomination you belong to, if they don't preach Jesus, Holy
Spirit week in week out there is something missing. If they don't read
much from the Bible if at all, there is definitely something missing.
Many have lost their lives over the years to bring us the truth, the
Bible in print, in our very own languages, so we could finally read it
and find out the truth for ourselves, amen.
Only when, as I'm discovering, shame on me, after years (1995) as a
Christian, that reading the Bible, suddenly things, many things jump
out at you.
In fact you find the Bible more revelant to today's life than what you
might think.
Right to work then, (laughs.)
What does St Paul tell us and can he be trusted on this, take his word
for it, has it been altered, copied wrong, all kinds of things that the
enemy and his servants will throw at you and me, okay:-
Romans 3:22
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ
unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by
faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So we can see
that is can't be a mistake first of all on Paul's part,
because he mentions it a few times.
I must point out that though we are justified by faith and many will
never defeat their weaknesses and be perfect, that is does not give us
a licence to sin. It's by inviting Jesus in and his spirit (Holy
Spirit) that we can be helped, hard as it often is.
The difference is in the recognizing that we are sinners in the first
place, and then asking God to forgive us, that sets us apart from the
world for a start. Then asking God and trying very hard to change
your ways, but you can't, I'm finding that out often the hard way. Only
laying it all at the cross and on His shoulders can it be done.
See Romans 7:15 onwards, Paul struggled in the flesh too.
So how can we be sure that St Paul was telling us the truth, well he
himself actually tells us and one can of course then check if he's
right by going back and reading the Old Testament on people like
Abraham being justified by faith, not circumcision.
Romans 4:1 What shall we say
then that Abraham our father, as
pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to
glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was
counted unto him for righteousness.
Paul goes on to
point out that the circumcision as just a outward sign,
like being baptized or confirmed today is, but it won't save you. He
had faith Paul says before he was circumcised.
If faith is not the way, then we will just boast about how good I am,
better than you:-'
'Oh I don't even swear, let alone go out and have one night stands.'
'I agree with you, terrible, disgusting Tony is, I'm not having
anything to do with him anymore, and I, why I don't even watch
programmes on TV, or have a computer that has anything dirty on, oh no.'
I tell you this, God hates proud, boasting, smug people, trust me on
that.
If being saved through that method was the case, the sky would be the
limit in terms of acceptance, in other words, you'd have to be like
Jesus himself, what does he say that you must now live like:-
Matthew
5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou
shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
I'm convinced
this is mainly aimed at the unsaved like the Pharisees,
religious order that had started to oppress their own people with so
many laws on top of the ten commandments to try to make people keep
them, when they did not keep them themselves. Jesus was saying okay
then, if you reject me, that's it, you have heard it said, well read it
again above, what does it tell you.
That's right, God is saying I'm the standard. Wow, can we go a day,
hour, many women would say of most men, without an impure thought,
swear word, curse, so on.
The sky's the limit alright, way, way up there, the thrown of God.
Wow, that's right we all fail, all sinned, just thinking is now as bad
as doing, we're all going to hell.
NO, NO, NO.
We can thanks be to God who offered himself as living sacrifice be
saved.
The Jews used to sacrifice an animal, usually a lamb, but other
things as well like doves, etc., for the forgiveness of sins.
Anyway, so are you starting to see that it's faith that justifies you
with God, through accepting, asking Jesus into your life, because then
he takes your sins on Him and God know longer sees them in you, no, oh
dear, lets go on some more then, (laughs.)
Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ,
that we might be justified by faith.
You know thick
old me, learning myself all the time, noticed, realized,
whatever, probably heard or read more like the following:-
If as anyone who believes in evolution is concerned takes away two
things, one being the belief in genesis, and creation and therefore
Adam and Eve, great, because no need for Jesus, think, no Adam, no
fall, no fall, no sin, no sin means, yippee, no Jesus, do what we want.
In other words Jesus was mad , false then, because why on earth come to
the world and die for us, so our sins can be forgiven, if Adam never
existed and fell in the first place.
The second is just as important, this is what I realized right:-
People, even me have puzzled the reason for giving the law, what's it
all about in the first place.
Mankind, even after Noah's flood sadly, nothing changes, would go down
hill again, you see they had no morals, if no one knew or Noah had not
told them, someone, man of God, to which they probably would not have
listened, they carried on killing, and committing adultery and stealing
and do forth.
The law was given, this is the key, what I realized, okay, what the
Jews should have realized that it's not obeying the law that gets you
into heaven.
God never intended it to be that way, so why was it given then. Well it
was so that we knew we were doing wrong.
For example, if we start work, and we say turn up without toe-tectors
on and something falls on our feet, we can claim, because we were not
told, hee hee. But if we were told and we sneak about in ordinary shoes
and don't want to tell them, fear get sent home, lose time and money,
we then have something fall on out feet, we knew.
Yes we knew the rules that it was wrong.
Now lets say you had an awful bad memory, kept forgetting, would it be
fair if they sacked you, you'd think not, but what if someone stepped
in your place, took it on for you, made sure you could always have his
spare shoes, awwwww, and wow, that's nice.
You see what I'm trying to say is that without the law we'd not know we
were doing anything wrong, well think, how on earth could Jesus come to
save us from our sins by taking them on his shoulders at the cross,
hmm, yes exactly, what sins.
Clever eh, God's 99% more clever, then we'll ever be, seeing as He made
us.
That's why we are told these things. I keep reminding people that come
to this site that the Bible is a guide book, not a rule book.
Finally below are more scriptures finally proving that we acted on
faith, meaning obedience to God.
When we fly we act on faith, that the plane is alright, beeb checked
over, if you ask as such and they tell you, you accept it, not argue,
right?
Habakkuk 2:4
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but
the just shall live by his faith.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man
draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
You have got to
read, if you have a Bible, too many to list here, but
Hebrews 11, I'll list a few:-
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not
seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his
house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the
righteousness which is by faith.
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into
a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and
he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Hebrews 11:29
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which
the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
It's all there,
whole of Hebrews chapter 11. Never mind getting on a
plane these days, what about that see parting, waves on either side,
yikes, but they trusted, in other words had faith and then walked
through it.
God wants us to do things on faith, not be actions of good deeds, lest
what:-
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
So now you know
the truth, had Adam and Eve not disobeyed God and taken
of the fruit it was obedience yes, but in faith, because He told them
they would die.
Jesus said I am the way, the only way, okay, I'll leave you with that
as well, remember the clincher for me, was that night way, way back.
You must have heard the true story, you know, in exodus, when the
first-born was to die, was the final plague that made the Pharaoh let
the children of Israel go.
What did God command His people to do and they did it on faith:-
Exodus 12:5
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye
shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same
month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill
it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side
posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat
it.
Now here was the
clincher for me, thanks to them discussing it on UCB
TV, book by book, or something it's called, a Bible Study programme.
Notice what would happened:-
Exodus 12:23
For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when
he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD
will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in
unto your houses to smite you.
YES you got it,
because of their faith, doing as God said through
Moses, doing as He says through His Bible, the awful judgment did not
come into the households and kill anyone on the children of
Israel's side, because of what they did.
Got it, okay think, if we accept Jesus, why John says what when he
sees Him:-
John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the
Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Also notice that
it said in Exodus 12 verse 5 that it was a lamb and
that it was to be without blemish, and that it was to be a male of the
first year, hmm, ring any bells, I think Jesus fits all that.
So we ask Jesus in to our lives, and trust by faith, that when He
returns, God will not judge us because by faith we have accepted that
He took our sins away, so easy and simple when we compare old to New.
Trouble is many are not reading the Bible at all let alone the Old
Testament to compare and see that it's full proof.
Why don't the Jews get it you ask, well many do, many have and still
are coming over messianic Jews they are called.
You see instead of keep taking a lamb, Old Testament literal physical
actions, we now simply accept Jesus as a one time offering for out
sins, symbolic New Testament kind of way.
every time we fall we go to Him and say sorry, forgive me and do our
best to not do it again and change, Amen.
