In
light on my own
personal struggles and weaknesses and standing in God of late I have
decided to pull anything that I say on regards to this matter and still
allow others to voice their concerns and let you make up your own mind,
God gives you freewill, nothing I can say would change your mind if for
the event, or against it anyway, right?

Matthew
24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,
and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were
possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Could
it really be possible, no doubt angels have certain power, satan
as well can appear as an angel of light:
2
Corinthians 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of
light.
15
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed
as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to
their works.

And for those that on
so many blogs say how dare you judge and words along that line you need
to read this important article as well:
http://www.feasite.org/Tracts/fbcjudge.htm
THIS QUESTION- "IS IT RIGHT TO
JUDGE?" is one that puzzles many sincere Christians. A
careful and open
minded study of the Bible makes it clear that concerning certain vital
matters, it is not
only right but a positive duty to judge. Many do not know that the
Scripture commands us
to judge. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded, "Judge righteous judgment"
(John
7:24). He told a man, "Thou hast rightly judged" (Luke 7:43). To
others, our
Lord asked, "Why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?" (Luke
12:57).
The
Apostle Paul wrote, "I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say"
(1 Corinthians 10:15). Again, Paul declared, "He that is spiritual
judgeth all
things" (1 Corinthians 2:15). It is our positive duty to judge.
One
of the best known and most misunderstood and misapplied Scriptures is
"Judge
not" (Matthew 7:1). Let us examine the entire passage:
"Judge
not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall
be
judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you
again. And why
beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest
not the beam that is
in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out
the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite,
first cast out the
beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out
the mote out of thy
brother's eye" (Matthew 7:1-5).
Read
this again carefully. Notice that it is addressed to a hypocrite!-not
to those who
sincerely want to discern whether a teacher or teaching is true or
false to God's Word.
And instead of being a prohibition against honest judgment, it is a
solemn warning against
hypocritical judgment. In fact, the last statement of this Scripture
commands sincere
judgment-"Then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of
thy brother's
eye." If we take a verse or a part of a verse out of its setting,
we can make the
Word of God appear to teach the very opposite of what it really does
teach. And those who
do this cannot escape the judgment of God for twisting His Word (2
Peter 3:16). Let this
be a warning to us never again to take a text of Scripture out
of its context.
George
Santayana said those who do not study history are destined to
repeat it. The events in Lakeland are not new in a qualitative way. The
core values are the same as they’ve been for decades. Some of what is
occurring is God, some is the flesh, and some is the devil. That’s the
way it always is, and it’s ok. We just have to exercise discernment.
What is not ok is to attribute unique significance to the manifestation
of power.
God
is big enough, good enough, and gracious enough to be
simultaneously active on multiple levels. Regarding Lakeland, I believe
God is doing wonderful things for individuals, and at the same time
giving the Pentecostal/Charismatic branch of the church, another
opportunity to come to grips with itself and its flawed and corrupt
value systems and practices.
Those
of us over 40 have been this way before and the end is always a
train wreck . . . William Branham . . . Evan Roberts . . . John
Alexander Dowie . . . Tertullian . . . Edward Irving . . . and many
others still living.
Someone
once told me that the most risky thing God could do for the
Church is bless it with His manifest power. I understand what he was
driving at. There’s only one foundation for life and ministry: Christ
and Him crucified. Any ministry that:
•
makes signs and wonders the center piece
•
makes the working of wonders the foundation of their existence, their
appeal, their draw
•
pursues manifestations, signs, and wonders as a core value system
will
end in disaster and destroy the lives of those who have associated
with them intentionally or ignorance. I don’t say this in a prescribing
failure sort of way. My desire is that repentance would occur and
adjustment and alignment to Christ in thought and practice would
realize all the benefits of the present realities of His kingdom while
avoiding the painful pitfalls. The Lord’s testimony and the lives of
people are at stake. Without deep change in value systems and methods,
disaster and carnage are as inevitable as showers in April.

I
support any holy outbreak of revival fervor. But let’s be careful to
guard ourselves from pride and error.
God
is stirring deep spiritual passion in the hearts of the thousands
of people who have traveled to Florida during the last month to
experience the Lakeland Healing Revival. Since these meetings began in
a 700-seat
church
on April 2, the crowd has moved four times to bigger venues, the
fervor has intensified and the news has spread worldwide—thanks to God
TV and online broadcasting.
Within
a few weeks, the bandwagon effect was in full swing. It’s safe
to say that no outbreak of Pentecostalism in history has gained so much
international exposure so quickly as these meetings have.
I’m
a cheerleader for the charismatic movement, so I rejoiced when I
heard the news about revivalist Todd Bentley’s extended visit to
Ignited Church. It was thrilling to hear the reports of miracles and to
watch the
crowd
grow until a stadium was required to hold everyone.
“When
we put bizarre behavior on the platform we imply that it is
normative. Thus more strange fire is allowed to spread.”
When
I visited a service on April 15, I was blessed by Heather Clark’s
music and the audience’s exuberant worship. And I laughed with everyone
else as I watched Bentley shout his trademarked “Bam! Bam! Bam!” as he
prayed for the sick and flailed his tattooed arms over the crowd. Hey,
Jesus didn’t pray for people according tothe Pharisees’ rulebook, so
I’m open to unconventional methods.
But
I would be dishonest if I told you that I wholeheartedly embraced
what I saw in Lakeland. Something disturbed me, but I kept my mouth
shut for three weeks while I prayed, got counsel from respected ministry
leaders
and searched my heart to make sure I was not harboring a
religious spirit. The last thing we need today is more mean-spirited
heresy hunters blasting other Christians.
I
am not a heresy hunter, and I support what is happening in Lakeland
because I know God uses imperfect people (like me and you) to reach
others for Jesus. At the same time, I believe my questions are honest
and
my
concerns are real.
My
motive is not to criticize Bentley or the pastor who is sponsoring
these meetings, Stephen Strader. In September 2002 Charisma featured a
seven-page article about Bentley’s amazing conversion from drug
addiction. I believe Bentley is a sincere brother who wants people to
encounter God’s presence and power. No doubt this 32-year-old
evangelist needs our prayers now more than ever, especially since he
has become the focus of international media attention.
But
as the noise from Lakeland grows louder and its influence spreads,
I’m issuing some words of warning that apply to all of us, not just the
folks in Lakeland. I hope everyone understands that these cautions are
offered in love:
1.
Beware of strange fire. The name of Jesus is being lifted up in the
Lakeland revival, and three people came to the altar for salvation the
night I attended. Larger numbers have come to the front of the
auditorium to find Christ every night since then.
Yet
I fear another message is also being preached subtly in Lakeland a
message that cult-watchers would describe as a spiritual counterfeit.
Bentley is one of several charismatic ministers who have emphasized
angels in the last several years. He has taught about angels who bring
financial breakthroughs or revelations, and he sometimes refers to an
angel named Emma who supposedly played a role in initiating a prophetic
movement
in Kansas City in the 1980s. Bentley describes Emma as a woman
in a flowing white dress who floats a few feet off the floor.
All
of us who believe the Bible know that angels are real, and that
they work on our behalf to protect us and minister to us. But the
apostle Paul, who had encounters with angels himself, issued stern
warnings to the
Corinthians,
the Galatians and the Colossians about angels who preach
another gospel or that demand attention. In Colossae, believers were so
enamored with angels they had seen in visions that they became inflated
without cause” by spiritual pride (Col. 2:18, NASB). Paul was adamant
that preoccupation with angels can lead to serious deception.
We
need to tread carefully here! We have no business teaching God’s
people to commune with angels or to seek revelations from them. And if
any revival movement—no matter how exciting or passionate—mixes the
gospel
of Jesus with this strange fire, the results could be
devastating. We need to remember that Mormonism was born out of one
man’s encounter with a dark angel who claimed to speak for God.
2.
Beware of bizarre manifestations. When the Holy Spirit’s power comes
on people they may feel weak or even fall. The Spirit’s power can also
cause people to tremble, shake, laugh or cry. Such manifestations are
biblical
and we should leave room for them. But where do we draw the
line between legitimate experience and fanatical excess?
The
apostle Paul had to deal with outrageous charismatic manifestations
in the Corinthian church. People were acting like raving lunatics—and
turning the church in to a free-for-all of unbridled ecstatic behavior.
Paul
called for discipline and order, and he reminded early Christians
that “the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets” (1 Cor. 14:32).
In other words, Paul was saying that no one under the influence of the
Holy Spirit should act out of control.
In
many recent charismatic revivals, ministers have allowed people to
behave like epileptics on stage—and they have attributed their
attention getting antics to the Holy Spirit. We may think it’s all in
fun (you know, we’re just “acting crazy” for God) but we should be more
concerned that such behavior feeds carnality and grieves the Spirit.
When
exotic manifestations are encouraged, people can actually get a
religious high from jerking, vibrating, screaming or acting
intoxicated. (I have even been around people who writhed as if in pain,
or made sexual
noises—thinking
this was a legitimate spiritual experience.) But
emotional euphoria doesn’t guarantee a heart change. The person who is
bucking like an untamed bronco in a church service would benefit more
from sitting still and reading the Bible for an hour. When we put
bizarre behavior on the platform we imply that it is normative. Thus
more strange fire is allowed to spread.
3.
Beware of hype and exaggeration. Our hearts are crying out today for
a genuine move of God. We want the real deal. We’ve read about the
Great Awakenings of the past and we long to see our nation overcome by
a wave of repentance. The church is in a backslidden state, and our
nation has rebelled against God. We are desperate!
In
our longing for a holy visitation, however, we must be careful not
to call the first faint breeze of the Spirit a full-fledged revival. If
we do that, we are setting people up for disappointment when they
realize it may not
be
what we blew it up to be.
Some
of the language used during the Lakeland Revival has created an
almost sideshow atmosphere. People are invited to “Come and get some.”
Miracles are supposedly “popping like popcorn.” Organizers tout it as
the greatest revival in history.
Such
brash statements cheapen what the Holy Spirit is doing—and they do
a disservice to our brothers and sisters who are experiencing New
Testament-style revival in countries such as Iran, China and India. We
have
a long way to go before we experience their level of revival.
Let’s stay humble and broken before the Lord.
I
am rejoicing over all the reported healings at the Lakeland meetings.
Miracles are awesome. Crowds are great. But miracles and crowds alone
don’t guarantee a revival. Multitudes followed Jesus during His ministry
on
earth, but many of the people who saw the dead raised or ate food
that was supernaturally multiplied later crucified the Son of God.
It
was the few disciples who followed Jesus after Calvary who ushered
in a true revival—one that was bathed in the fear of God, confirmed by
signs and wonders, tempered by persecution and evidenced by thousands
of conversions, new churches and the transformation of society. We
should expect nothing less.
However
we do know miracles do still happen, are genuine and are of Jesus and
God amen:

http://www.freecdtracts.com/testimony/ian_mccormack.htm
There
is nothing like first hand experience:
The
reason
i am writing this is to let people know my experence when i
went to the revival. more than one time. When i arrived in Auburndale i
stood in a large line for quite some time then a man came out and said
to leave if we wanted We will have a new service monday we are now
full.So i stayed and waited as people left they allowed people to
entewr 2 or 3 at a time. After i made it in.The band was playing music
and talking to the crowd of people this was hyping the crowd up.Than
another person came out to speak to the crowd of people even hyping
them up more like at a pop festival where the anouncer comes out and
hypes up the crowd and works them hard till the band comes out to
play. Then Todd walked up and started talking. He called out for people
to come up there but at that time they would not let hardly anyone up
there they had several people blocking you from entering the stage.I
tried to get up there and was not allowed to all they were interested
in was testimonium .They had people with pen and paper asking the
people questions to see if they would let them up on the
stage.Questions like were you healed what happen what did you feel can
you bend show me. ,twist,do push ups,run if the person said they were
healed and showed them they could run, bend,or what ever, after they
screened them very very well then they would allow them up on the stage
where Todd would talk to them but he had nothing to lose by this,
because the person up there said they were healed than he would push on
them or blow at them and say something depending on what was wrong with
them.So i am sure it did’nt take the people long to figuire out very
few would get on that stage with out telling the people who screened
them a great story and how you were healed or in the process of being
healed. If your story was not good enough you still didnt get on
stage. And people were there to have Todd lay hands on them and be
healed. So my opinion is that people would give him what he wanted to
hear to get up there on stage anything to get him to lay hands on
them. After the TV show was over they asked for money which i know it
cost money for him to be here and pay all of his workers. That night he
had 2 lines of people come to him and he touched all of the crowd as
they rushed by him quickly just to see a very few fall from the
power. That night he talked about pain medicine and said to get off of
it and said diabetes would be healed ,high blood pressure, and several
others. When Todd put his hands on me he did say Healed. So the next 4
days i went off of all my medications and belived i was totaly healed.
The next day i was in pain from not taking my pain medicine, then my
blood pressure went up along with my sugar but i still held on rebuking
the pain and sickness i was having and my eyes went blury from not
taking my medicine for my diabetes. So i wrote god tv and told them what
was going on and asked them if i should continue off my medicine but
they never called or e-mailed me back.So i though if i went back and
prayed harder i would be healed so i went to there lakeland service.Any
way i have been touched by Todd 3 times now and i am not going back
there is no need to.And no i am still sick. You know what he is doing
is not all bad some are giving there lives to god and they are praying
in jesus name and they gather together and sing.Even though there is
not that much preaching there. And my own opinion there is not much
healing going on there either. If there is any its from jesus and all
the people praying together from a huge fellowship. But as far as todd i
can only tell you my experence and i dont like to judge people at all.
All i know is i was there and not healed and had my son with me who has
bad eyes and he was driving, on our way home and i told him to take off
his glasses and he did and put them back on right away .I asked him why
did you put your glasses back on he said because i cant see .I have
seen several people return in there wheel chairs and others familiar
faces there looking to be healed.I belive that if todd didnt block the
stair case with his people which reminded me of bouncers and
detectives. And let people come up there freely with out stoping them
and interrogating them ,that you would not hear all these
testimonies. And as for miracles did i see any all of the times i was
there No i don’t belive so.Take what i say with a grain of salt, all
i
can tell you i am speaking the truth. I was
there for what ever its
worth. Good Luck.

Interesting
about the God TV, like when I stopped giving many years ago
warning over Steve Muncey and his style of asking for funds on their
missions week, no email reply. I'd started to believe in them, look on
them as the BBC - Christian version. Interesting that in the above
posting copied from that above link it was said, because now recently,
and yes they might be busy, they say that in a standard reply, that God
TV have not replied back.
This
is why I've not long back pulled all Christian TV, apart from UCB
off my Christian TV web page. Who can we trust in these last days.
I'm
only sadden that UCB is UK only and on a weaker transponder, as
they never ask for money, funded by the UCB, United Christian
Broadcasters Radio stations I guess. But also they are about the only
one that does not have a dog tag on their screen and no ministries on
it ask for money.
Another
account if genuine can also be found by clicking
here.
Also
see click
here to see a blog I'm posting on with
links on it to another blog
about God TV as well.
Never
Mind Todd Bentley, what
about the missions week, the Mike Murdocks
and Steve Munseys and so
on.
Below
are what others on the internet have been saying on the blogs, I'm
selecting those with a sensible nature not some ranting, swearing,
attacking insults, all are genuine and can be found on the net, simply
go to google and type in 'todd bentley blog', anyway:
I am so glad everyone
is sounding the alarm on this ‘tool of Satan.’
One thing I have been cautious about, though, is listening to his audio
clips and watching his clips. I still think the Devil can influence
many who give audience to these things (and I don’t just mean the
spiritually weak or Biblically ignorant). Spiritual attacks are real
and the demons will not hesitate to come against GOD’s people… I guess
I am saying to those who may be reading, please be cautious with
listening to/ watching these clips and even the TV programs (make sure
you’re covered in the blood).
..........
I agree with lavrai.
I was warned, about listening to him, I just
wanted to hear what he was saying as I had not heared him before, well,
I came under major attack. I had to repent before the Lord.
..........
I watched him on a
youtube … its
all kundalini energy being imparted by him. It’s demonic, he’s demon
possessed and 2 Thess 2 and 2 Tim 4:3-4 are being proved before our
eyes. And after seeing that clip, I’m never clicking on one of them
again, I had a dream today and when I woke up, I had to pray and repent
because it wasn’t right. This is a guy that true believers should read
up on from sources that are faithful to the word of God but they
shouldn’t watch unless, like you say, are spiritually armed a la Eph
6:10-19.
It’s
getting real out there. The craziness is
going to get worse and worse until the Lord comes back.
..........
I just don’t
understand how seemingly intelligent people can be so
gullible what with Todd’s wild stories and yarns he endlessly spins. I
think it must be pure lust for something different, new and stimulating
and entertaining. Trading those things for the clear Work of God is
shameful. These people seem to love making up endless excuses and
justifications for this guy. One pastor told me I was like those who
said Jesus had a demon. I told him Jesus didn’t have occultic tattoos
(he just recently got) so why would I judge him. They say god is using
a foolish thing of the world to confound the wise. I say there is a big
difference between foolish and evil. God doesn’t use an evil thing to
advance his kingdom. The foolish thing is all the pastors and elders
who should know better who are leading their flocks astray.
..........
Hi Anonynous,
Yip you are spot on. WWE star to be Todd Bently receive his Tats and
Piercings AFTER he got saved.
Hmmmm...It
appears he ignored the Holy Spirit on this issue (that's if the Holy
Spirit was ever there in the first place) and chose to listen to the
'demonic spirits' of his past. Reason? Oh, cos if you look more worldly
he will attract more of the 'world' to his revials and get them
'saved'. I beg to differ, for we are in this world, not of this world.
But
alas that is just a teeny weeny part of his belief/doctine that is
completely contrary to the Word of God. And people fall for it hook,
line and sinker.
I've always said, a truly Born Again Christian
does not need to be revived through a 'Revival' and secondly a truly
Born Again Christain does not need 'signs and woneders' to know that
Jesus IS who He says He is. We just know and believe, for the Holy
Spirit brings us into ALL rememberance and understanding :)..........
"Not every one
that
saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in
heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in Thy Name? And in Thy Name have cast out devils?
And in Thy Name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto
them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity."

I believe Todd does signs and wonders. One of my friends went to his
meeting and he prayed for a lady and a tumor fell off of her. I also
believe he sees and communicates with angels. Does that make him a true
prophet?
Back in the 90s when the Toronto blessing was happening
and we attended the Vineyard church, my sons saw angels all the time.
1John4 says test the spirits whether they be of God and that if a
spirit is of God it will confess that Jesus has come in the flesh.
So
this is what we did: we said "in Jesus name I command you to tell me
did Jesus come in the flesh?" to every angel we saw. And everytime it
would tell the story of how Jesus would come in the flesh to earth, and
die and be raised up after 3 days, and was now seated at the right hand
of the Father.
Until, one day, we asked an angel and it shrunk
and morphed into a little green demon! Lesson learned: not all
angels/spirits are of God!!! This could explain why christians like
Todd Bentley are going off the rails....
Matthew 24 says about
false prophets that the elect would be deceived if such a thing were
possible. Matthew 7 says that there would be false prophets in sheep's
clothing (ie they will look like sheep) and that we would know they by
their fruits. Come on you guys! Look at the fruit!!!
..........
The deceptive nature
of this "revival" and the large scope of it are
truly alarming. I believe tragedy will strike the world right when
everyone is shouting "peace and safety", "revival" etc. Jesus warned us
against false prophets, and the test is the Word of God. Why is
Scripture not being exposited and the personal extra-scriptural and
anti-scriptural revelations of a man being exalted? This is deception
at its height.
..........
I'M VERY CONCERNED
ABOUT THIS TODD BENTLEY & SO CALLED FLORIDA
REVIVAL , EVEN MORE THAN THE TORONTO BLESSING.......We are seeing the
bad fruit of the "Toronto Blessing" in New Zealand at present. My
brother in law's marriage broke up just after his heavy involvement in
that thing. He went loopy and lost all reason. The devastation in his
life and children and ex wife has been very, very painful for our
family.... I really can't begin to tell you how much.... my poor
nephews and niece. It has broken our hearts. I've seen other casualties
and it has grieved me so much.
We can hardly go to a church in
our little town anymore where we are aren't seeing these bizarre
manifestations. And if you question the leadership or church members
about it(in love, I will add)you are labelled as "devisive",
"rebellious", "religious" etc. All sorts of "whip words" to bring you
into conformity. It really is cult like you know and a form of
"spiritual abuse". Their behaviour is far from Christian.
The
Lord said to us "Come out from among her and be ye separate....and
touch not the unclean thing." So my husband and I have stayed away from
church for a long time now. We got some excellent Christian counselling
which literally changed our lives.
I've seen some of my
Christian friends become people I hardly know anymore..... they have
left sound doctrine and there is now such alot of confusuion and strife
in their lives that just wasn't there before.... very bad fruit. They
have also become unteachable...it's not looking good folks.
Before
it was Toronto and now it's Todd Bentley.... not Jesus, I might add. My
best friend is planning to go to Lakeland and she talks a strange
unscriptual language now. She use to love Jesus so much. I want my
sister in the Lord back, in her sane mind. I'm at present getting all
the info I can about Toronto and Bentley and emailing it to her and
warning her.
And now she has stopped answering my emails. (So it goes on, much longer, but I'm
ending it here for space reasons.)
..........
My dear, DON'T BE
DECEIVED. TAKE THIS FROM ONE WHOSE BEEN
THERE.....these aren't true conversions, people are not getting saved.
This is addictive emotionalism accommodated by demons. I've seen so
much of this before. True salvation is seen by a life time of
repentance. If you aren't daily grieved over your sin and turning from
it then you aren't saved, If you don't have a relationship with sin
then you don't have a relationship with God.
The great
commisssion is to "Go ye into all the world and make disciples of all
men" Todd Bentley is not making disciples...HE'S MAKING FOLLOWERS.
Examples of true leadership today are David Wilkerson & Paul Washer.
I
walk in daily communion with God. I don't need to go to Lakeland to get
a so called "quick fix" "touch". I don't need to get "drunk" in the
spirit. If I wanted to do that I would just go down to the nearest
liquor store and buy myself a bottle of whiskey and say "more Lord,
more Lord" "More whiskey Lord, more whiskey Lord" I've repented and
turned away from that hedonistic self indulgent lifestyle. I've turned
away from all that, not to find it in the church thanks.
I
don't have fellowship with angels, I have fellowship with God. I don't
need to look to a man to experience God's presence. I'm experiencing
His presence daily and conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment
every moment of the day because I've learn't to abide in the vine, I've
learn't to put away the old life and crucify the deeds of the flesh.
I've also learn't to guard that place of abiding. THAT IS TRUE REVIVAL.
I'M IN IT NOW AND THAT'S WHY I CAN RECOGNISE THE FALSE.
I too
have come out of addiction, 24 years ago. I've lived on the streets.
I've been homeless, suicidal etc, I'm telling you I've walked the walk
as a sinner and I'm walking the walk as a sinner saved by grace now, my
life has been totally transformed and restored and I tell you it was no
easy feat and it wasn't done overnight, it's been tough learning to go
through short term pain for long term gain. Us addicts are addicted to
the "quick fix" and "instant gratification", we are always looking for
instant answers, that's how I know Todd isn't yet healed from his past
because he's still living in the addictive personality,he has an
unhealed mind. It takes one to know one, and that's why ... I KNOW A
FAKE WHEN I SEE ONE AND TODD BENTLEY IS A FAKE....HE IS DECEIVED,
SINCERELY DECEIVED. HE THINKS HE'S ON TRACK BUT THE POOR GUY ISN'T.
(So it goes on, much longer, but
I'm ending it here for space reasons.)
..........
I
have also seen many pictures of his tattoos. I
am not condemning
people with tattoos but I don’t think you people have researched Todd
enough!
Even
if, as you say, it is now ok to get tattoos..
how do you
explain Todd being covered with demonic ones? I have also seen the
‘Jesus death mask’ one which has a demonic monkey in the beard and that
‘oni’ thing. He also has the masonic ‘all seeing eye’ and an inverted
cross. On his chest he has a skull in a rose with some evil words..
can’t remember what they say. And on his knee (I think) he has a beast
with medussa like hair, naked with pierced nipples.
So,
ok.. he’s not your run-of-the-mill preacher,
he want’s to be
himself, a bit contraversial. But if being ‘himself’ means he wants to
adorn himself with satanic imagery then I don’t feel he’s someone I
want ‘imparting’ spirits to me.
Yes healings are taking place, but we are very
early on in this
‘revival’ we need people following up these ‘healings’ for years down
the line.
It’s also important to note that new age therapies
such as ‘reiki’ claim healing, I’m sure we all agree reiki is not from
God.
..........
I have attended many
meetings in the Puget Sound Washington area led by
people that follow Todd Bently and others. The other night God sent me
and a friend to a meeting where the Pastor had been to Lakeland and was
praying for the people in the meeting to receive the “anointing” that
he received from Todd Bently. He kept talking about how powerful the
“presence of God” was in the local meeting, yet the meeting was so dry
and I could barely feel the LORD’s presence. As he began to lay hands
on the people at the meeting, I began praying against any demonic
activity and forbidding the devil to touch God’s people. The first 1/3
of the crowd fell when the man prayed for them, but after I prayed
hardly anyone else fell down. A friend said while she was up there the
man praying with this man of “God” tried to physically push her down so
she’d fall. Please pray for these brothers and sisters who are falling
into deception that God would deliver them and open their eyes to the
truth.

The following
are not in context, highlighting the best bits as it is
long, for the whole article, click the above link to read. A word of
warning the guy does sometimes say the word bull**** or pis****. But
the whole
article as a whole makes interesting reading on Bentley and Lakeland.
"I want to change", "fill me", "wash me", "set me on fire. " This was
the mantra shouted by the emcee, then repeated by the crowd, over and
over, prior to the live feed television broadcast. The people were
being hyped up and primed for the cameras. Prayers and more prayers,
with lots of shouting preceded the program. This is a healing revival
and according to them, it requires activating faith. "You have to
expect it" stated the emcee. And the people definitely expected
something.
They were responding
on cue and willing to be led. He began by reading a testimonial he
received via email. A man was flying into the Lakeland airport and saw
an angel outside the plane. My mind immediately raced to the Twighlight
Zone episode "Nightmare at 20, 000 feet" where a creature devoured the
wing of the plane right in front of a passenger who subsequently went
nuts. Even though this guy's angel didn't do anything as cool as that,
I listened intently. He said the angel looked in the plane at him as if
wondering to himself, "why are you in a plane? " I thought that must
have been a really dumb angel.
In
a bold move Bentley called all those in wheelchairs up to the front
of the stage. He said he would pray for them to be healed. Faithfully
they came and lined up side by side along the front of the arena. But
they never got prayed for and they never got healed. Bentley left the
stage.
I
noticed the older man in the wheelchair leaning forward, his wife
still behind him, not smiling nearly as much now, but still hanging in
there like a faithful companion. I was very close to them and wanted so
much to reach down and take the man by the hand and just hang out with
them but as the worship band played the crowd grew densely packed and
the woman wheeled her husband slowly back to her seat.
After
the cameras were turned off the real show began. Todd took a
break and a guy named David Hertzog gave the offeratory. It was an hour
long ridiculously lame infomercial about how people need to give more
money to the revival. This guy was blatantly over the top. I can't say
enough how much I don't like this guy. For instance, he said that if
you give, you'll get that many times in blessing. For instance, if you
give three times, you'll get three years blessing and that whether you
give or not, you'll affect the next seven years of your life, good or
bad! In other words, if you don't give money, it's worse than breaking
a mirror people! Holy crap. Did I mention that I don't like this guy?
He also mentioned that there are angels of finance. He said that he
prays to his angel of finance to bring him money from the four corners
of the globe. Huh? Dude, this guy is really, really weird. No wonder
they waited till the cameras were turned off to feature him.
http://www.adventuresinchristianity.com/?L=blogs.blog&article=3494
There was a large man sitting next to me in a wheelchair who was
paralyzed from the waist down. He began to try to inch his way to
the edge of his seat. His wife and a young lady who I presumed was his
daughter encouraged him along. There was another lady standing over him
speaking in tongues. Well, this man got to the edge of his seat, slid
off, and crumpled to the floor like a rag doll. His wife and
daughter kept encouraging him to "just believe. " The other lady kept
up her tongues. This went on for a good half hour and the poor man
could do nothing. They finally helped him back into his chair.
(Probably just didn't have enough faith, you see. )
A number of people who came in in wheelchairs walked up on stage
for Todd to pray over them. Todd would ask them their condition,
command them to be healed, and then lay hands on them and yell very
loudly into the microphone, "BAM! ! " Some would then fall back and
lowered to the floor by the ready catchers (one person he even
head-butted as he "BAMMED" him). He claimed most, if not all, of these
folks healed. Well, these individuals could all walk even though
they were in wheelchairs. I watched each one as they came back down the
stage and from what I could observe every one of them went back to
their wheelchair or stayed on their crutches. I honestly did not see
anyone dramatically and unquestionably healed. Some of these
individuals I followed and was able to get their names and phone
numbers. I will follow up with them in a few weeks to see what if any
change in their condition has occurred.
But then he said something that really disconcerted me. He said,
"Now,
when I come up to you to give you the anointing, I want you to stop
praying. If you continue to pray while I lay my hands on you, it
will hinder the passing of the anointing from me to you. You are not
to pray
while I'm laying my hands on you and giving you this anointing." Well,
the Scripture that immediately popped into my head was 1 Thess. 5:17,
"Pray without ceasing." Why was the pastor of the church telling me to
do something clearly against Scripture?? Let's also look at this
logically. When a person prays, he is communicating with the
Triune
Godhead. This anointing that is about to be given to me is also,
supposedly, from the Tiune Godhead. How could these two acts possibly
be in contradiction? How could me praying to God hinder me from
receiving something from God? Unless, of course, this anointing
was not
really from God. Needless to say, huge red flags
immediately
went up with me. Now, I'm not making an accusation against
Strader
here, I'm just saying that his instruction to stop praying was patently
unbiblical at best and, at worst, possibly a doorway to receive
something from some kind of spirit but not the Holy Spirit. Please
know
that I am not judging the man's heart, I'm just saying that this was an
unwise and potentially exceedingly dangerous directive on his part.
Well, Strader went up to each person, layed hands on them, and loudly
yelled into the person's ear "FIF!!," (this is how I heard it) or,
"FIRE!!" Practically everyone fell down, some twitched and jerked, some
laughed, some just lay there. Well, when he came up to me, I was
steady
praying opting to follow the directives of Scripture rather than his.
He layed hands on me, yelled "FIF" but I felt nothing other than
concern about what was going on around me.
Genesis Tv interviews two pastors.
Oh goodie I thought last night (Tuesday the 10th June 2008) at last it
sounds like Gordon on Genesis TV, sister of Revelation TV, is going to
talk about the Lakeland thingy, and yep, I was right.
The two pastors of churches who had been said it was a move of God and
apart from the tattoos, seemed to be pretty darn sure about the event
and teachings, although one did not agree with the morning teaching on
their explanation of Revelation chapter 5, the other said he found when
he was in the morning one's it was alright.
However most of the emails and later the callers were I'd say against
it and one woman, sounded elderly in years, said Bentley was evil,
strong stuff.
It seems from this discussion and if so worth clarifying here that
Bentley's tattoos done since being a Christian were more Godly in
nation.
My question though was, well why not get rid of the other one's then,
as I'm aware, one can now have them removed, or covered up, so on.
Gordon later said and the pastors agreed that it seemed those that had
been were of the opinion it was of God and those that had not were the
callers and emailers who were not of that opinion.
Gordon did not get around to or read out my mail, which if I recall
mentioned the fact that I knew of two of the internet (see above) who
had been and did not believe it genuine either, go figure.
No one wants to be skirting close to commiting the unforgivable sin and
saying that the work of the Holy Spirit is really satan.
However I still personally feel there are questions to be answered.
In the end it seemed it was being turned into, by the pastors and those
few who did support, rang up, emailed, that we were judging the outside
appearance.
To which I thought was nonsense.
Despite what the Bible says on tattoos and eating pork and keeping the
sabbath and this and that, all done away with because Jesus kept all
that, hence it is finished on the cross, otherwise it is not by grace
and faith, it is of out works, if we must be saved by being baptised,
doing this, doing that, so on.
So even if we take their point, okay, I can over look the tattoos, who
cares, ex-prisoners I'm sure being used by God genuinely, despite
Gordon being stronger than the pastors on this and mentioning one email
saying they are a demonic gateway, so to speak, but the thing is what
is inside then.
Well we have sometimes heard, I have myself, the boy called Josh and so
on, the emphasis being on angels and we have the behaviour, constant
head shaking and ha ha ha ha, arghhhhhhhhhh, arghhhhhhhhhhhh, does
this, that sounds like a sane man of God.
If Jesus showed up and acted like that would we feel He was genuinely
of God and follow after Him.
There remains for me, and heck I'm so not perfect and have no right to
comment really on anything, accept that I hate if I see anything that I
feel might be wrong to mislead others, and them risk everything by
being disceived. Anyway, yeah there remains for me, too many questions
still to be answered.
Could it be that as the pastors said, and I've read and heard before
that people just get carried away.
What of the caller who said she saw Bentley asking this woman things,
telling her this and that and twice it was wrong and he waved her away
and dismissed her. If that is true, and along those lines this
certainly throws things into major doubt. And another man who said it
was blasphemy, something about God whispering in his ear about is it
okay to, forget now, do something. I think he meant God was asking him,
rather than as we should always ask God if it is alright to do
something.
Can Bentley just be being disceived himself, who knows. What of the
other people's involvements, and other things not seen on camera and
those things that are. Why is it God has to use Bentley and in this
way, mind you could be argued, about the Dudley event in the UK and
this and that and great men of the past being used by God and the
Prophets and Jesus only himself, and so on.
But what I mean is, it's almost like the message that goes out is come
and get some, spend all you have to come to this event and get what I'm
going to impart to you. Or the very least, watch it on ustream and God
TV and get it when I say so.
Can't we know longer, each already blessed with the Holy Spirt anyway
at time of conversion, call upon God ourselves, can't we do thing in
our own countries and cities.
The pastors remained convinced and cited cases they know of, healings
and so on, not just over there, but here in the UK and of people being
saved because of it and on fire for Jesus now.
So, wow, and okay, and God forgive me, and I repent and I'm in dread
now springs to mind, and fear and so on.
But, then again, I keep thinking of the last days, what is meant to
happen and something in my spirit, like with a few that rang up,
likewise clearly felt, something was not right.
Gordon, the show rather got flack for not having someone on with the
opposite few, Gordon said he invited two people who had been.
At the end of the day, who knows, are we any clearer to knowing and
heck does it matter, if it is of God it will survive, if not it will
die out.
One thing the pastors did say to which was pleasing is that it is not a
revival, but an outpouring, too early to say yet, so on.
I guess only time will tell, however for me, I've deleted from my
satellite box the God TV channels and now refuse to have the Wonderful
- Don Stewart, God TV - lakeland and asking for money way. Daystar and
INI and so on. I have kept TBN, like their films, but would not give or
watch their telephons either. I know longer support Revelation Tv
either, sadly as they show Don Stewart as well.
Welcome to the end times springs to mind, earthquakes, yep, floods,
hurricanes and tornadoes and being being misled and wars and this and
that, famines and high oil prices and riots and ethnic conflicts and
surely all Jesus talked about that would happen since Israel was a
blooming flower again (1948) and 1967 clearly show once again how
accurate and 100% true the Bible is with the predictions.
Expect things to get worse much worse hence Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the
edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and
Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the
Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there
shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves
roaring;
26 Men's hearts
failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then
shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great
glory.

Dear lee,
Thank you for your email and concern. It will not surprise you, I am
sure, that I can tell you again that as a ministry, Rory and Wendy and
the team, we are endorsing the programming from Lakeland and we believe
that this is a move of God.
As for your concerns you are completely entitled to your views and
either way we believe God will give us all wisdom and understanding of
what is happening through prayer and seeking God's face. So indeed keep
on praying, as will we, that God will move in the power of His Holy
Spirit and in the authority of His name in the earth at this time.
I am aware that there is now a reply to a lot of the concerns that have
been raised now posted on the 'Fresh Fire' website, which of course you
can read and may find helpful. The link is
http://www.freshfire.ca/?Id=1059&pid=993 .
Thank you again for taking the time to feedback to us,
God bless,
GOD TV TEAM
Personally
I (lee) still have a problem with it, too many questions that I feel
can not be answered.
If the tattoos that are of demonic in nature, all seeing eye and so on
were before he came to Christ, it is my understanding tattoos can be
removed nower days, right. Why would you want to keep something like
that on you.
Normally when you come to Christ you are led by the Holy Spirit to do a
clean out, even those that are not delivered straight away, say from
smoking, know it's wrong. We have head shaking, people being touched
and shaking and jerking, one I saw until camera changed away from the
stage doing a chicken.
Then there is the angel thing often being mentioned, and this and that,
just something not quite 100% right.
Can it just be people being carried away.
Can God use only one person at a time to go around the world and Bam
people in some circus type showboating event and be happy with it.
Is God okay with the emphasis often being put on angels and this third
heaven, if not in this event else where, recorded on video and so on.
I personally don't care so much what he looks like, tattoos, so on,
that has been labelled at anyone questioning this.
My point is the above, something just does not sit 100% right with me.
Anyway, I have deleted the God channels and most of them now, in fact I
only watch TBN for the films, UCB for the ministries teaching and
Genesis TV.
All the others, including sadly Genesis's sister Revelation TV I can
not and will not support money or word wise.
The ministries like Don Stewart's miracle green rip you off
handkerchief and missions weeks asking for a seed as money when it is
the word in the Bible, well, dire.
October 2008,
recently I was sent this in my email, most interesting:
IT has taken me nine years to actually come to the place where I would
write this story.
Part of the reason was because I was not fully convinced that it was
appropriate to speak out against weaknesses in the body of Christ
publicly.
Another reason is because it has taken years of soul searching to
become convinced that what happened in the Toronto Airport Church (TAC
later changed to Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship — TACF) was
actually all bad or at least more bad than good!
For the past number of years I have called it a mixed blessing. I think
James A. Beverly called it this in his book Holy Laughter and the
Toronto Blessing, 1994
. Today I would call it a mixed curse, concluding that any good that
came from this experience is far outweighed by much harm and satanic
deception. Therein has been my dilemma. I have tried to live my life in
the fear of the Lord Jesus, who told us that the unforgivable sin was
blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, i. e. attributing to Satan what was
in fact a work of God. If pressed as to whether or not the Toronto
blessing is all God or all devil I will still be hesitant.
However, I am convinced that Satan has used the experience to blind
people to the historical doctrines of God: producing fruit in keeping
with repentance; testing and discerning the spirits; and to test
prophecy.
After three years of being in the thick of the Toronto blessing our
Vineyard assembly in Scarborough (East Toronto) just about
selfdestructed. We devoured one another, with gossip, backstabbing,
division, criticism etc.
After three years of ‘soaking, ’ praying for people, shaking, rolling,
laughing, roaring, ministering at TACF on their prayer team, leading
worship, preaching and basically living at TACF we were the most
carnal, immature and deceived Christians that I know.
I remember saying to my friend and senior pastor at Scarborough
Vineyard Church in 1997 that ever since the Toronto Blessing came we
have just about fallen to bits! He agreed!
My experience has been that the manifestation of spiritual gifts
mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12 was much more common in our assembly,
before January 1994 (when the Toronto blessing started) than during the
period of supposed Holy Spirit visitation.
During 1992-1993, when praying for people, we would experience what I
believe was genuine prophecy, deliverance and much grace and favour
from the Lord.
After the Toronto Blessing started, all ministry time changed. The only
prayers were ‘More Lord MORE ’, the shouting of ‘Fire, ’ the
jerky-shaking of the body with the ‘ooh ooh OOH WOOOAAH’ prayer. (I am
not exaggerating! )
On January 20, 1994 about 15 people from our church travelled over to
Toronto Airport Vineyard to listen to Randy Clark, a Vineyard pastor
from the USA. John Arnott had called our senior pastor to invite us. He
said that Randy had been to the Rodney Howard-Browne meetings and that
the "stuff" had broken out in his church in the following weeks. John
was hoping that something might break out with us too. We were only too
happy to travel over.
Our fellowship was planted, in 1992, out of the Toronto Airport. In
those days there were three vineyard churches in Toronto. One down town
church, Scarborough vineyard church to the east and the airport church.
We were one big happy family. Because we were small in number we did
special meetings, conferences etc, together.
The year before, most of our leadership teams joined and had headed to
Nicaragua for a short-term mission trip. We had genuine love and
fellowship with each other. Since leaving the Vineyard churches I have
read a lot of analysis from the critics. Some allege that the Toronto
Blessing was one huge conspiracy to lead the body of Christ into
heresy.
Heresy and apostasy I suspect may well be the result, but none of this
was intentional.
I am honestly convinced that the leaders in the Vineyard churches were
genuine born-again Christians who loved the Lord, but fell into
deception. They did not love the Lord enough to keep His commandments.
They failed to obey the scriptures and have been led astray by longing
for something bigger and brighter and more exciting and dynamic.
I was guilty of this sin also. I have preached renewal in Korea, the
United Kingdom, the USA and here in Canada. I am genuinely repentant
and in writing this story I would ask you, the bride and body of
Christ, to forgive me. Especially the Pentecostal\Charismatic
Christians among you, for you are my immediate family, theologically. I
am an evangelical Christian. I always have been, but I do not believe
in the cessation of the spiritual gifts at the end of the apostolic
era. I believe that it was my evangelical roots (my family are Baptists
and I was born again in the Presbyterian church) that started to open
my eyes to problems with this so-called renewal.
In hindsight I wonder how could I have been so blind?
I laughed at people acting like dogs and pretending to urinate on the
columns of the TACF building. I watched people pretend to be animals,
bark, roar, cluck and pretend to fl y as if they had wings, perpetually
act as if drunk and sing silly songs. How I thought that any of this
was from the Holy Spirit of God amazes me today.
It was loud, irreverent and blasphemous of the Holy God of the Bible.
In my mind I reasoned that as long as they did not teach anything in
direct violation of scripture then it was what we called the "exotic".
This is a buzzword for manifestations that could not be justifi ed from
a biblical perspective. I was taught, from the pulpit, that we had two
options.
The order of the nursery, full of life and messy, or the order of the
graveyard, very orderly but dead! As a young immature pastor I wanted
life with mess. I failed to remember that God wants us to become mature
and grow up in Him.
I became disconcerted by the prophetic words that came forth,
especially one by Carol Arnott in which she had her bride experience
where she was taken into the very presence of Jesus and said that the
love that she experienced was even better than sex! I was shocked in my
spirit and thought how can one compare the love of God with sex?
When we suspected that demons were running riot in our services, John
Arnott would teach that we should ask, are they coming or going. If
they are leaving then that is okay!
John would defend the chaos by saying that we ought not be afraid of
being deceived, if we have asked the Holy Spirit to come and fi ll us
then how could Satan come and deceive us? This would make Satan very
strong and God very weak! He said that we needed to have more faith in
a Big God to protect us than in a Big Devil to deceive us. This sounded
very convincing, but was totally contrary to scripture for Jesus, Paul,
Peter and John all warn us about the power of deceiving spirits and
especially so in the last days. Again, we did not love God enough to
obey His Word and the result was that we opened ourselves up to lying
spirits. May God have mercy upon us!
Finally the penny dropped for me as I was rolling around one night
‘drunk in the Spirit, ’ as we would say. I started singing and as I
rolled around the fl oor the Nursery Rhyme ‘Mary had a little lamb its
fl eece was white as snow’ came to mind.
I sang this in a mocking spirit and instantly my heart told me this was
a demon. Instantly I repented and was in total shock. How could a demon
infl uence me?
Did I not love God?
Was I not zealous for the things of God? I knew that an unclean spirit
had just manifested through me and I was guilty of great sin. After
this experience I stayed away from TACF. I did not go back there any
more. I did not possess the conviction to denounce the whole
experience, but thought that we were failing to pastor the Blessing
well enough.
If God has forgiven me and opened my eyes then He can do it for all
those caught in deception too.
Even after I stopped going over to TACF, I had to pastor the fruit of
it. One example was when some of our people returned from a meeting
there asking us if we had all received the golden sword of the Lord? I
asked them what they were talking about, thinking that it was some
prophetic reference to the Holy Scriptures, but they said, ‘No, its not
the Bible. It’s an invisible golden sword that only the really pure can
receive. If taken in an unrighteous fashion then the Lord would kill
you’.
But if you are holy enough to receive it then you can wield this sword
and it will heal aids, cancer etc. and bring salvation. How one wielded
this sword was by pretending to have this invisible sword in your hand
and motioning to strike people with it when in prayer! I thought, while
even in deception at this time, that the TACF had become lunatics! This
was purportedly fi rst received by Carol Arnott and then given to the
ones holy enough to receive it! Another thing was the gold fi lling in
the teeth.
We had people in our assembly peeping down one another’s throats
looking for the gold fi llings that God had placed there to show how
much he loved them! In all my time there I only heard one message on
repentance, given by a visiting speaker, Jackie Pullinger from Hong
Kong. It went over like a lead balloon. We were not there to repent.
We were there to party in the Lord! After one year into the blessing I
spoke out at a pastors’ meeting and said, ‘Guys we have shaken,
rattled, rolled, laughed, cried and bought the tee-shirt. But we have
no revival, no salvation, no fruit and no increased evangelism, so
what’s the deal? ’
I was soundly rebuked. Who was I, to expect to see fruit when the Lord
was healing His broken people?
We had been legalistic long enough and God was spending this time
restoring His wounded and freeing us from legalism. I was told not to
push the Lord and the harvest would come in His time.
I knew this was wrong
because the Lord had commanded us to go into all the earth and make
disciples! Not, that everyone should take a sabbatical for who knows
how long, while God does some strange new thing!
Ultimately I left over something as controversial as the ordination of
women. Personally I believe from scripture that women should not be
pastors/elders in a local assembly. I could be wrong on this, and there
is much debate in the church today, but that is my conviction and in
the Vineyard churches they were ordaining all the pastors’ wives to
co-pastor with them. I am certainly for women in ministry but believe
that the elder/pastor role in a local assembly has been reserved for
men. We didn’t write scripture but, we should have the grace to obey
it.
So there is my story.
I could go on and document much excess, folly, sin and latter day rain
teaching that manifested from the prophetic end of this Blessing but
others have already done that. We sang about Joel’s army and the
billion-soul revival as if it were one of the Ten Commandments, and as
always it was just around the corner, next month, next year etc. Jesus
asked, "When the son of man returns will he fi nd faith upon the earth?
"
He warned that His coming would be hastened "the days will be
shortened" for the sake of the elect. This is a far cry from the
dominionism that is being taught all through the
vineyard-prophetic-spiritual-warfare movement. They think they are
going to take over the whole world!
While in the Vineyard I embraced a life-changing verse from Paul, the
apostle, the phrase, "Do not go beyond what is written! "
To fi nish, I just want to say sorry for the damage that I have done,
by teaching things that are not correct, biblically. I repent before
men as I already have before God. I will not excuse my falling into
deception. I did not test things when the scripture commands us to do
so.
Everyone who was there when this thing started knows that what I write
is true, they would just come to different conclusions especially if
they are still promoting the ‘river! ’ To those in the river I would
say, climb out, there are things living in the water that will bite you
really badly! I love the people of TACF and the Vineyard movement, but
they have much to answer for and may the Lord open their eyes sooner
rather than later. I suspect that when my story becomes public I will
get bombarded by emails, some damning me for still believing in the
ministry of the Holy Spirit and still walking in deception and some old
friends damning me for exposing dirt or being negative about the Lord’s
anointed! Well, the Lord knows my heart and by His grace He will guide
me into all truth as I seek to know Christ and Him crucifi ed!
If you believe that I walk in sin and error please pray for me, that
the Lord would forgive me and open my eyes. I will study the Word to
show my self a workman approved! I would call on all who read this to
pray that the Lord would open the eyes of all who have been involved in
this deception, whether leader or follower, we are loved and the Lord
is a forgiving God.
He says, "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness". I believe we are like
the church in Laodicea, we think that we are rich, have prospered and
need nothing, we do not realise that we are wretched, pitiable, poor,
blind and naked.
We must take the Counsel of Jesus and buy gold refi ned in the fi re,
white garments to clothe our shameful nakedness and eye salve that we
might see again. Jesus is calling us to repentance and thank the Lord
that He is, for it will lead us to true restoration with our Father! If
God has forgiven me and opened my eyes then He can do it for all those
caught in deception too.
I will fi nish with a warning from Paul, who said, "If you think you
are standing fi rm be careful lest you fall".
We
wish to acknowledge, however, that since our last statement from the
Fresh Fire Board of Directors, we have discovered new information
revealing that Todd Bentley has entered into an unhealthy relationship
on an emotional level with a female member of his staff. In light of
this new information and in consultation with his leaders and advisors,
Todd Bentley has agreed to step down from his position on the Board of
Directors and to refrain from all public ministry for a season to
receive counsel in his personal life.

Directors it says.
I at 4hurtingchristians don't believe it's to be gloated on, or I told
you so, etc. Prayers are clearly needed, we are all sinners, all have
struggles, so on, maybe Todd was genuine at one time, like all things
if satan can't stop it, he inflitrates it.
