"I went to the Lord Jesus and asked Him to help me stop."
After trying to stop smoking for three years I finally did what I should have done in the first place. I went to the Lord Jesus and asked Him to help me stop. I told Him I would try stopping again the next morning. The next day came and I went to work as usual and didn't even think of it. It was like I had never smoked. I had smoked for 22 years. I haven't smoked for 20 years now.—Connie

I got down on my knees one day, and confessed to my new found God that I was weak, helpless and just plain stupid. I needed to quit smoking but I couldn't. Would my new friend Jesus please help me? Please? I just can't do it, I said, please help me or I will die before I am even certain of my salvation. That thought made me sit there and cry.
Hey, I would tell you about the big, fiery miracle that Jesus whammied onto my head, with the lightning and the voice from heaven that knocked me down and made me shake, but it just ain't so. It was far more impressive than that could ever be. I simply never wanted another cigarette. Ever. Not once. To this day -- and it's been about 4 years now.
Not that I fought temptation and never gave in, you understand. Remember, I tried that and failed miserably. I have never wanted to smoke another cigarette. If you have ever smoked, you have some idea of the mercy and true love behind such a miracle. There was no kinder or more impressive thing that my Lord Jesus - my new best friend - could have done for me.

"I smoked for many years and after failing time and time again to stop smoking by myself, I decided to turn it over to Jesus. I wanted to be free from this bad habit so I bound Satan in the name of Jesus and commanded him to depart from me and then asked Jesus to deliver me from smoking. I made a vow to God that I would never put another cigarette to my lips. I immediately started to thank and praise Jesus for answering my prayer and do you know what? Instantly all cravings for nicotine left, I felt like I received a new pair of lungs. That was 13 years ago and I have not had a craving for a cigarette since nor gained any weight. Put your faith into action, try Jesus, He works, praise God!"

Ask God To Deliver You From Smoking By Praying The Following Prayer:

Almighty God, in the name of Jesus I come to you in prayer. Your word tells me that I am free from Satan's bondage, for whom Jesus has set free is free indeed. Lord for years I have been in bondage to cigarettes, nicotine and smoking, doing harm to my body, which is now your temple. I place on your alter this bad habit and addiction. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I command you spirit of addiction and bad habit to depart from me and enter me no more. I will not take up eating as a substitute; therefore I will not gain weight, for I am completely free from this bondage. Praise God! Thank you Lord for my deliverance to your glory and honor forevermore. Amen.

“I wanted desperately to quit this habit, but nothing seemed to work. I would tear up my cigarettes, then buy more. I would mash each cigarette as I said, “I hate you, I hate you.” but then I would go out and buy more packs. My parents also smoked, which added to the difficulty of quitting. I even prayed to quit, but kept going back to my destructive habit.

“One January morning I was sitting outside a newspaper station in Jacksonville, Florida, at 4 in the morning waiting for the papers to arrive so I could begin my delivery route. I was so burdened to quit smoking, and I was also keenly aware of my inadequacy to do it. From the depths of my being, I literally yelled, ‘God, take these cigarettes out of me!’

With gratefulness to God, I can honestly say that I have not touched a cigarette since that day—over 60 years ago.”

Dear Ferd,

I just read your section on Healing. I have tried to quit smoking for a long time now and have been unable to ... until now. I prayed the prayer at the end and when I did I felt the power of God lifting away my need for the cigarettes. I want to thank you because you helped me realize that my problem was doubt and that means I did not have faith in God's promises. I know now that I will never smoke again. I also know now that healing includes spiritual healing as well as physical healing. God gives us the power to truly rid ourselves of the devil and his evil influence over our lives. Thank you for this web site. It has been a blessing to me. Thank you Jesus for your healing.

I quit smoking. I stopped going to the pornographic movies, and I was delivered from all my addictions. God really changed my life. During my military duty, I tried quitting smoking, but I couldn't succeed. Now my life was filled with joy, and I knew the changes I had in my life was a result of His miracle. After this I prayed to Jesus and asked Him to be the Savior of my life, and I gave thanks to him for bringing love into my life, and dying on the cross for my sins.

Jesus came into my life and gave me a new resurrected soul because I was spiritually dead, just like Lazarus, and since that day I have no desire for the party life. I quit smoking cigarettes and I quit drinking. I have a strong desire to know God's Word and to serve him however I can and to not sin.  The flesh lusts against the spirit and that will go on till I die or Jesus comes back as it will for all His people.

I tried hard - most of the time -but I just couldn't do it. I would buy a package and tell myself that I was going to break them in half and smoke a half a cigarette a day and that's it, and when the package was gone I wouldn't buy another one. Or I would buy a pack, just have one and throw the pack in the trash. Then later when I couldn't stand it I would dig in the trash and get them out, smoke one and throw them away again. And dig in the trash again..........
Finally one night when I was badly needing a cigarette and trying hard not to go out to the trash can (my friend had been here) I talked to the Lord and told Him, crying, that I just couldn't do it. I was sorry but I just couldn't. ............From that point on I had no desire for cigarettes! It was as if He said "No, you can't but I can!"
Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!

Lord, teach us to pray!
Many years ago, a woman would come to us and ask for prayer that she could stop smoking.  I think everybody in Omaha had prayed for this woman to stop smoking, but she kept smoking and smoking, and yet she was always asking for prayer.  Priests would pray, special prayer teams would pray, but she still kept smoking.  She couldn’t break the habit.  One night we were at a prayer meeting and a young man whom we had never seen before was there and he just kind of glowed with the presence of God.  Everybody noticed.  He was just passing through.  Who knows—maybe he was an angel!  After the prayer meeting was over, everyone made a beeline to this young man for prayer because there was something special about him.
I was standing in line for prayer and right in front of me was this woman who wanted to stop smoking.  I thought, “Oh, I know what she’s going to ask for.  We’ve heard it for a year.”   I couldn’t help but overhear because I was the next one in line and when it was her turn, he said, “What would you like prayer for?”  She said, “To stop smoking.”  He paused for a moment and I realized he was checking something out with the Lord.  Then he said to her, “Do you want to stop smoking?”  I kind of muttered to the Lord silently, “Of course she wants to stop smoking.  She’s been asking all of us for a year to stop smoking.”  Well the young man waited for her reply and there was this silence.  I thought, “Isn’t this strange?  She’s not answering him.”  We waited some more and then I could see the struggle going on within her.  Finally she said, “No, I really don’t want to stop.  I should quit for health reasons, but I really don’t want to stop.”  So then he said, “Let’s pray for the desire for you to want to stop.”
The prayer that needed to be prayed was “Lord,  please give her the desire to quit.”  So this young man prayed that she would get that desire to quit smoking and the desire for her will to be one with God’s desire, and that she would be able to quit smoking without any problem.
