Oh yes the 419 scams, scammers, fraud, con, conning, romance scam, 419ers oh what else, you know, see below now.

It is important to stress that like anything in life it is not everyone from a certain country that is doing this and I have nothing personal against anyone, I cheered Ghana on in their major soccer event known as the African Nations Cup. However:

Having had sadly a vulnerable member hit with this on my chat site and now having addressed the problem I'm going to also give a helping hand to the rest of you.
Yes we are talking spam and scam and conning people out of their money.

If these people were really genuine and even Christian they would be grateful for anything, but instead saying they are an orphan and playing on old ladies kindness only means unless they repent and find Jesus, they shall be in for a rude awakening when they die and find out God is real as I've proven.

Anyway faith and religion aside, these people are the worst of the worst, heck a satanist will come on and use bad language and abuse, but these people are in affect doing an internet robbery on you, only difference is you've not been physically assulted as such.

The main problem comes from Nigeria and Ghana, not saying all, but seems the famous one that hits me is always from ACCRA.
another can be Lagos. I've since been told Ivory Coast is another one. There may be a few places in Africa, but the worsr seem to be from Nigeria and Ghana.
They also go through Israel as well, a place traced to Petah Tiqwa, those i.p numbers have also been included below.

The numbers vary with me having to block over 70 odd in the end, and that is ranges as well, not just one number as such.

We've all heard by now of the obvious my father died left me so many millions of dollars and the government this and that, so I want your account number so I can deposit it into there and I'll give you 10% for allowing me to do this.

If one did not belong to the world and could not care less about money, like me, because when I die I can't take anything with me, then one would not, even if proved legit, had people on, and I'm just not interested.
What even if you could win a car, no I said again at a motorway service area, think I was doing a job as well, at work, stop off to go to the toilet or get a drink. I don't want to be hounded by someone who might mean well, all got to do these horrible jobs, though I would not for 50 pounds an hour. The classic being the door to door selling of windows, or the phone call one, that's annoying as well, the one from Birmingham on an 121 number, best of it is the new tactics nower days seem to be no I'm not selling anything, but can I leave something with you.
One actually admitted at the door, it's not for now, can I do one, you put it in the draw and think about it, 'It's just so I get my commisson.' WOW, you get what. But as I was thinking, sort of agreeing as he kept going on and on, and on, he said we'll be back to measure up then. In the end looked at me like I was mad, when I started to shut the door, can't recall what I said, but I'd had enough, not that nasty or swearing, but I'd gotten fed up with 'What don't you like about that, oh is it because' line of questioning.

So these scams from Nigeria and Ghana now seem to be coming on, caught them undercover myself, thinking they were dirty men coming to chat up women, then feeling bit guilty as they did not do this, but I would tell them after that became clear that this site is not for singles and dating. They would make out they wanted a Godly woman, that they into God, but the quickness of the PM-ing you, in private message box and asking your asl, age, sex, location and being pushy soon starts to give it away.
Once they realize they are wasting their time, there love for you soon wanes and they will close their window on you.

If however sadly you have gone along with it, it seems from what I can gleam they will soon be telling you something like I'm an orphan, and 17 years old.
Once it became clear, I looked into it finding the guy was actually 18, clearly he has something more powerful than the living almighty God to be getting younger.

Some make the mistake of course of using the same username or spreading themselves too much around on the net, perhaps niave to the fact you can now easily if you've left a foot print be traced:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&p=%28adade2005%29&y=Search&fr=sfp&dups=1

(adade2005)

Don't you just love God, satan hates you and everything, not a gentleman and uses people, all those follow him don't get it, once they go to hell he'll still torture them as much. God not me wants me to do this, that's why I say don't you just love God, left to me I'd just be selfish if I still belong to the world.
One chat site had not told me, I told them, and they knew, but I'm not bitter, I just went and informed other Christian chat sites and a dating, well singles one as well.
Now I'm doing this because of God, amen. So do not thank me, thank God and remember if I'm wrong, nothing to lose, if I'm right, rather the Bible is right, where will you go when you die and do you believe satan's biggest lie, apart from evolution, that being a good person get's you into heaven, does the proven 100% accurate so far Bible actually say this, see here now for more on that one:

If I am good enough will I enter heaven

I'm aware sadly some innocent ones will suffer also, but you can no longer take any chance on allowing these countries through, this is like us rather than our government, who must be failing to act like these African government, implimenting our own sanctions.
Remember they only continue because it works, make it harder and they might finally wise up and give up.

So get banning, ban, block, blocking, banned, you name it, fight back now, see the numbers below, add a link on your site to here, spread the word, save people's lives, money, self-worth, the lot, amen.
Get yourself a free tracing tool and check just in case I make a mistake in typing the following in, okay.

All I can say is sorry, I know it is too late, if you have been conned out of money, it's awful, learn your lesson and count it as a blessing. People blame God saying why does a loving God allow this to happen to us, pain, suffering, illness.
We find our answer as usual in the Bible in the Old Testament. When the going went good, the children of Israel soon forgot their God and courted other nations. When the going went bad, arghhhhh we must have sinned and they returned to God.
It is not His prefered way, trust me, but by our sufferings we do what, who do you think it better placed to help someone that has been abused, exactly, another victim, now over it and into God, forgiven and moved on. They can still remember, and so can relate better.
Who has more success with prisoner coming to Christ, normally those  that were once in prison, coming to Christ and once out and on the straight and narrow, return to tell them there is a better way, amen.

Please don't let me here anyone say it's your own fault, some kind old Christian lady is not after money, shares in anything, just hears about some poor suffering orphan, we've all seen them adverts on satellite TV channels even, that are for real, wrench on our hearts, or we pretend not to, and change channel as quick as possible. But sadly the net can't be trusted. Because of an minority they ruin it for any genuine ones.
So it is with deep regret I say, NEVER EVER under any circumstaces part with money, reveal your email address, reply to any emails you've received or chat to anyone in private that you do not fully know, gotten to know over time in a public arena and even then, say sorry, I'd love to help, but I can not, and give them links to find help in their country. I suspect Pretoria in South Africa maybe another one to look out for.

Here is another suspect I've traced from using my site, upon which I doubt is female and looks like the photo:
http://www.asiafuns.com/free_dating_asian_personals_singles_6752.html
http://www.meelovia.com/ShowUser_uid_rashma.aspx

However forgive, there is always a slim chance for once that she is for real and he stolen her identity to use on my site, putting in her username and  then email address taken from thsoe sites above. Either way it ruins everything, because I simply trust no one now.

And it does not stop there, now you get links, to save you searching the net
I do the work, so you don't have to, God bless you.

Much to my embarassment, I was apparently scammed out of ~$2,300 over the course of a year or so by a Nigerian romance scammer operating out of the Achimota District in northern Accra, Ghana. This person, possibly a male, was posing as a woman named "Mary Malik", age 30, a Ghanian who resided in the district with her mother, brother and several orphan friends.

I thought I was helping out a poor Ghanian, when all I was doing was getting scammed. In order to get them to quit living off me every month, I tried to set them up in a taxi business, but soon there was a "terrible accident". Through a heartbreaking story of police after her, etc., I was scammed out of $700. Then, angry and wanting to be paid back, I invested in a "rental car for the tourist agency" business. I thought I was going into business in Ghana!

The three countries in Africa from where the majority of scams originate are Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).

Zimbabweans and Ivorians often pose as Ghanaians and in recent times Nigerians have started to do likewise. Unfortunatley this has given Ghana a bad image. In reality Ghana is an extremely honest country where traditions, integrity and family values are held in the highest regard. Almost all scams operating, or appearing to operate from Ghana, are the work of non Ghanaians. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070118130040AAyGJ1F

FESTAC, Nigeria — As patient as fishermen, the young men toil day and night, trawling for replies to the e-mails they shoot to strangers half a world away.

Most recipients hit delete, delete, delete, delete without ever opening the messages that urge them to claim the untold riches of a long-lost deceased second cousin, and the messages that offer millions of dollars to help smuggle loot stolen by a corrupt Nigerian official into a U.S. account.

But the few who actually reply make this a tempting and lucrative business for the boys of Festac, a neighborhood of Lagos at the center of the cyber-scam universe. The targets are called maghas — scammer slang from a Yoruba word meaning fool, and refers to gullible white people.

Lastly scammers please do not bother, everything is logged, I'm on just about every day, I'll check numbers now, trace, and I'll block again, wasting your own time, as I love researching, how I know the Bible is accurate and truth. Study, research, check, study, so on. Oh and as soon as you hit, you'll be added to the above list anyway.  Finally, though it's always the innocent that suffer, it may be best to simply block the whole of Africa itself. Until these governments are willing to tackle and deal with the problem we need to impliment our own personal sanctions against them.
I'd even be that weary now of anti-scam sites, not put it past the scammers, probably already done it to set up an anti-scam site in order to get more info off you.
Remember don't say it can;t happen to me, you run a business, have your email address online, telephone number, so on. From Credit card fraud to romance scams and lotto scams to my father dropped dead and left me millions, give some to you if you house it for me cons to all sorts now, be very weary online, I had no idea how big a problem this truly was. But I do now. And so you, Amen.

Fortunately for me this is an old one and I'm that strong headed, Christian or not, God forgive me, incase it is a con, if  they said I'm about to die and my children be shot dead right now unless I have 10.000 pounds by tonight I'd still ignore it.
Even if genuine, I avoid sending on those forwarded Christian like chain mail things, with some powerful message, story, something in, saying pass on to 10 people and so on. I take no part in any such things. This way if you blanket the darn lot across the board, and if everyone did this the scammers would give up saying waste of time, spend hours a day every day and not one has bought the bait, I'm off and they'd give up. Well some hope, on to the next con, which catches the first few out before we pick up on it and report it again.
If we truly all belonged to God and not into material wealth we would care not about falling for these things.
Speaking of which even so called Christian men of God are up to, well, see for yourself by clicking here about Don Stewart.
The moral of the story is, if you stop giving money to try and gain more money then you'll be fine, anything, yes even gambling, lottery, that requires a cheap way to make money, requires you giving small amounts to get more back is a con in my eyes now and surely frowned upon by the Lord.

May 2008, Yes they are still at it, usual con, someone should have told them, Africa long beat you guys to it. As the world economy gets worse in the last days so will these guys, sadly:

 Junk mail scams 'using lawyers'

One woman has told how the scammers had targeted her ex-husband who had been left vulnerable after a stroke.
Eliana said he was tricked out of almost £100,000 by a gang who had promised him £1m.
"As soon as he'd made contact with them he was totally in their grip," she said.
"He totally gave up on life. Every morning he waited for the post to arrive or for a courier to arrive with the money so he wasted his whole day. It almost because an obsession. It was all he could think about."
"They were tenacious criminals who wouldn't give up until they'd exhausted all his funds."
This week, one of the gang, Victor Ifejika, was sentenced to a year in prison for fraud - but the police are no closer to discovering who he was working for.
"We know very little about him. He's not been the country for a long time but what we do know is that he was part of an organised gang," said Detective Chief Inspector Ian Chandler of West Surrey police.
"He was part of a group that was targeting numerous people and on this occasion he hooked the victim," he added.

Dear, Sir\Madam.

You may be surprised to receive this letter from me since you do not know me personally; I am Mrs. Lovina TAYLOR the wife of Mr. PHILIP TAYLOR who was murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe last Two Years. I got your contact through world network online and your company profile, hence I decided to write to you. Before the death of my husband, he had taken my son MICHAEL to South Africa to deposit the sum of US$ 32.7m (Thirty Two Million Seven Hundred United States Dollars), in one of the private security company, as if he foresaw the looming danger in Zimbabwe.

This money was deposited in a box as a family property to avoid much demurrage from Security Company. This amount was meant for the purchase of new machines and chemicals for the farms and established of new farm in Swaziland. This land problem came when Zimbabwean President Mr. Robert Mugabe introduced a new Land Act reform which affected the rich white farmers and some few blacks’ farmers. And this resulted to the killing and mob action by Zimbabwean war veterans and some lunatics in the society. In fact, a lot of people was killed because of this land reformed Act for which my husband was one of the victim.

It is against this background that my son Michael who is currently staying in South Africa decided to transfer my husband money to foreign account since the law of South Africa denied a refugee (asylum seeker) not to open any bank account or to be involved in any financial transaction throughout the territorial zone of South Africa.

I am saddle with the responsibility of seeking a genuine foreign partner who can assist my son with his personal/company's account where this money could be transferred without the knowledge of my government who are bent from taking everything we had. The South African government seems to be playing along with them. I am faced with the dilemma of investing this amount of money in South Africa for fear of going through the same experience in future since both countries have similar political history.

Moreover, the South African Foreign Exchange policy does not allow such investment as an asylum seeker. As a person, who I have to entrust my future and of my family in his hands, I must let you know that this transaction is 100% free. And upon acceptance of this proposal you are advice to contact my son MICHAEL TAYLOR through the Email: taylorfamily1@myway.com or phone number :( +27 833 421 375.) For more details of the transaction while I implore you to maintain the absolute secrecty required in this transaction.

I have two options for you; firstly you can choose to have certain percentage of the money for nominating your account for this transaction. Or you can go into partnership with us for the proper profitable investment of the money in your country. Whichever way you choose, feel free to notify me; I have also mapped out 5% of this money for all kinds of expenses incurred in the process of this transaction.

If you do not prefer a partnership I am willing to give you 25% of the money while the remaining 70% will be for my investment in your country.

Best regards and God bless,

Mrs. Lovina TAYLOR

Thousands hit by tax scam
As an estimated five million people attempt to file their tax returns online this month, the Revenue has given warning that fraudsters are targeting thousands of taxpayers in a sophisticated e-mail scam.

The scam, known as ‘phishing’, involves criminals sending out thousands of e-mails which appear to come from the Revenue, saying there has been an error in calculating their tax and they are now due a refund.

The scammers then ask for personal bank or credit card details so that the refund can be paid out. In a variation of the scam some fraudsters are phoning people up, posing as tax officials, and asking for personal information so that the ‘rebates’ can be paid.

Warning over 'bank' phone fraud
People called, apparently by their bank, and asked for their passwords or pin numbers, should not disclose them.

This police warning comes as dozens of people living in the Scottish Highlands have been targeted by fraudsters.

Most banks require customers they call to give them some information to ensure they have contacted the right person.

4 Hurting Comments:
It always comes down to money in these last days, more than ever.
If you have a strong moral policy, especially if a wide awake Christian you should have a one rule policy of no matter what I'm not interested. I recall at a golf event (end of September)  last year a woman trying to get me to take out a 0% for however long credit card. I replied not interested even if you were giving me, offering me a free car. She was confused, turned out she thought I meant a free card, to which she is offering anyway, lol.

The point is, if you don't serve money, don't belong to the world, are strong minded, and have a strong policy of no, no matter what, and then check it out later kind of thing you never get caught and these scams never happen ever again in any shape or from.
Of course they do because people, well, are greedy mainly, for the most part.

Having said that I recall a friend of my mother winning something, she checked out and was genuine, where as I might have just ignored it and lost out, but my motto would be better safe than sorry.
These scams are getting worse, more clever ways they are using now, not just the my husband died in African country one where they will give you some of the money if you allow them to put the millions in your bank account, do this by letting them know the details of course etc. Or the dating ones along similar lines and the email ones as king for details to confirm something like the above one an error say.

No, they are getting more ingenius making things look so legit, and so on.
But again, anyone, even if genuine you should have the right to refuse and ignore.
I recently purchased something from Machine Mart, having heard the young lad ask the customer before, his post code, I thought I'd be bolder and for once refuse to which I did and then saying light heartly, I don't wish to be bugged by things coming through the door.
They do this at PC World, not that I recall ever getting anything from them, they say it for personal or business use and then ask for your postcode and house number.
It's a cheek, why not tag me now and be done with it and follow my every move I make. While of course allowing the terrorists to just blow us up when they feel like it, make sense right, not.

So remember with any email, phone call, not matter how genuine, and the genuine one's normally don't, say, sorry, if on the phone, I can not give those details, and then politely hang up. Then phone up, though it costs you, the company involved, or do a google search and see if there is any truth to it, etc.
Operating a NO policy, refusing policy, non reply policy will see you in good stead.
Heck, even if genuine, good cause, I never even pass on the so called Christian like chain letters, that normally give some great heartfelt message and then say pass on to others etc.

It's the same as the darn nectar card, sick to death of being bugged and reminded and almost feels like harrassed every time I go to Sainsbury's to buy my shopping. Nothing is for free, trust me, money, points, nothing, always a catch.
That catch is normally gathering of infirmation about your shopping habits, to pass on to others, or themselves bug you buy sending you offers and whatever else through your letterbox.
They know, like with your credit card, what you buy, when you bought it and where you bought it.
Sure if you are like me, nothing to hide, what you got to worry about, regardless a literal anti-Christ and if a mark of the beast is to be literal aside, I still think plenty, it's an invasion of your civil rights, meaning privacy, the right to get up in the mornnig and not be on Big Brother.
For those that hate Big Brother show, would never dream of going on it and Jeremy Kyle like shows airing your private life in public, and thinking hardly anyone but family knows this or that about me, think again.
While you might even do your bit, shredding stuff, what about the banks and building societies and companies we deal with over the net, containing all our details on computer and paper form, for any hacker or person to come across in the bins, on your account details.
SHRED the lot, I do, other wise someone can take the Simon Smith of so and so street and apply for something in your name, so even names and addresses and postcode, black it out, or shred it.

If everyone did their bit, we'd never hear anything like the above, because they'd have long given up trying, knowing that every has an operating Zero tolerance when it came to asking anyone for details that contacts you first in any form, phone, email, text, even in the street.

March 2009:
Five scams on the rise

Tough economic times make fertile breeding ground for scammers and this recession is no different. I was at the Consumer Federation of America conference in Washington, DC last week, where several state consumer protection regulators spoke about the sharp increase in financial and consumer scams.

April 2009:
Police crack '£35m' letter scam

A scam letter scheme which could have netted an estimated £35m a year has been smashed by officers from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca).

It follows a police raid on a Somerset address used as a front to operate the international scam.

Payments totalling nearly half a million pounds were recovered.

Cheques are now being returned to the 22,000 senders with a letter warning them about the scam and urging them to be more vigilant in future.

The letters, which were responding to international lottery scams and bogus offers, were intercepted by Soca during the raid in Somerset last June, before they could reach their final destinations overseas.

4 Hurting comments, I've said it before and I'll say it again, you need to operate a zero tolerance, I'd still say no to something if they offered a free car worth thousands.
Your mad.
Maybe, but if a thing seems to good to be true, it normally is, you don't get anything for nothing, necter, or is it spelt nector card, I'm constantly bugged to get when I shop at Sainsbury, offering these point, same id data company that is to do the id cards, if it has not gone bust, read it was in trouble, recession an all.
So they know what you buy and when you buy it, same with a credit card.
Now of course most of us have nothing to hide, but but as we see the New world Order doing, turning our world into a police state, it can only get worse.
And, it has been proved time and time again the government and their agencies can not protect our information on their databases anyway.
Operating a no, no, no policy and none greed and so on, will ensure you never get caught. Sure you may miss out from time to time on something genuine, but the scam people would give up and never get any where and get a proper job, or whatever, if we always said no to everything. There is normally always a catch, even if they say there is not.
SO BEWARE in future, and spread the word around.
