Statement:-
The following is not intended to attack individuals, but the system, what it stands for, I have bowed to Christian lashing out and deleted some pages, like on the sabbath, because the Seventh Day Adventists have apparently said that we have the mark of the beast for worshipping on a Sunday, despite the Bible clearly refuting such an idea. My aim is to reveal truth according to God's word, in the Bible, not mine, I didn't write it, I wasn't even around. So as I said, this is not intended as an attack. I will question anything that starts to lean more on a system than Jesus. I'm not keen on infant baptism in our own church of England church. I am non-denominational and proud to be so. The Bible clearly states as far as I'm concerned in many places that the only thing that assures your salvation, a place in heaven and not hell, is asking Jesus into your life, not any other ritual, not going to church, not speaking in tongues, or water baptism, though I have deleted those pages, I still remain convinced deep down. Otherwise think, if that were the case, first Jesus would have said so, be baptized in water, full emersion, and secondly that surely is a works, who needs Jesus, because clearly He isn't enough. I just recommend that you read the Bible, ask questions of the place you attend, seek answers, even suggest you are thinking of leaving, if they seem disappointed but bless you, and not put up much of a fight, cool, they probably are all right. However, the stories i've heard in testimonies how they were told if they left they would lose their salvation is complete nonsense, because it is Jesus Christ that saves us, no church, cult, doctrine, nothing else, no other man, the Bible makes that completely clear, all through the New Testament.
I just want you to have peace and be free to worship Jesus on any day and at any place.
God bless love Webmaster.

The following is based on something I heard, as you'll see, however I did visit the site of the J-W's to try to establish some truth in this teaching, well belief that Jesus is not God incarnate.

So can the Witnesses be claimed to be a cult, probably.

Today I decided to put on my cd of the sermon by Ray Stedman about Colossians. A few minutes in however he starts to say:-

'Perhaps some of you have had the experience of answering your door bell some day and finding a man or a woman, standing there with a little green book under his or her arm announcing him or herself as a Jehovah's Witness.
And asking to come in to tell you the truth about life and the Bible and so on, and if you let them in sooner or later, they turned to this passage to show you that  Jesus Christ was not God, that he was essentially a creature, the highest of the creatures, of the creation. And they use this term the first born of the creation, to er, bolster their argument'

Colossians 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

He continues:
'They argue that this means Jesus was the first one ever created. And of course there is a sense in which this word first born does have that meaning as the first one that appeared, we refer to our children, the oldest one is the first born, because he or she appeared first on the scene.
But you see that's one of the slick devices by which the cults propagate their errors, and it's very subtle because it apparently seems to be logical and scriptural.
But what their doing is using a modern meaning of the term, which is quite different from what the New Testament uses this term to be. And if you let the New Testament interpret what the word first born mean, it doesn't mean the one born first at all. It means the heir, the chief, the principle one, the owner. And this phrase the first born of all creation means that the Lord Jesus stands in relationship to creation just as the heir of a, of a father stands in relationship to the fathers property, he's not part of it, he isn't part of the fathers ownership, he's the owner of it.
He's the heir of it.
You remember you have this used in various ways in the Old Testament, and er  recall in two specific incidences we have a clear case of the one who was born second was really the first born of the family. Err, in the case of for instance of err, of err, Isaac and Ishmael, Ishmael was born first, but Isaac was the first born.
Again in the case of er Esau and Jacob, Esau was born first, but Jacob was the first born.

So you see this does not mean the first one of a line of creations, but that he is the heir of all creation, the owner of it. And this fits of course with what the apostle goes on to say,
16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And if you look carefully at the Jehovah's witnesses little er green translation of the scriptures you'll notice that in order to err substantiate their lie about Jesus Christ they have inserted the word other, in these phrases, 'All other things were created by him.'
All, err and er all other things were created. But there is absolutely no warrant what so ever in the Greek text for the insertion for the word other, this is a clear instance of the kind of deceitfulness to which these people will stoop in order to propagate the lies that they manifest.
Now err here is Paul's great declaration, here is the Lord  Jesus, the creator is what he's declaring Him to be, the one who flung all the worlds into being, who was there present with God and was God when the great words went out let there be light, let there be err err the earth bring forth, and all the other great declarations of creation that we have in Genesis 1. It was the Lord who did this and further more as Paul goes on to say,
17  And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

But it's when you start to read the Bible for yourself that you start to see a pattern, and it's interesting.
Why is it cults take a scripture or two, but ignore the rest, or alter it, add a word, like 'other' as Stedman said.

First and I have several versions, even one by a Jewish man that at age 49 who dicovering the text led him to study them for  21 years of his life looking at and translating from Greek, let's check on that word 'other'.
First the J.W.'s say that it is,
all 'other' things were created by Him.

Colossians 1:16
...all things were created by him, and for him. (KJV)
...all things were created through Him and for Him. (NKJV)
All things were created through him and for him. (Heinz W. Cassirer Jewish man.)
Everything was been created  through him and for him. (NLT)
God created the whole universe through him and for him. (Good News.)
...all things were created by him and for him. (NIV)
...all things were created through him and for him. (Jerusalem Bible.)

I find that remarkable, not one translation has the word other in it.  By the way now you know why I have, and advise that others have also, a few differing version, it backs you up and shows others too.

But the best of it is, when you take time to finally read the Bible for yourself, instead od believing what others tell you, you start to see other references, too many to dismiss:-

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  The same was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
(Incedently with the arguments over which John wrote Revelation I also made a dramatic discovery)
Revelation 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Ephesians 3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Philippians 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

And there is more too:
John 6:35  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36  But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 8:12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 11:25  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Luke 22:30  That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Matthew 10:40  He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Mark 9:37  Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

John 8:58  Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

You know, it's no wonder they say the truth shall set you free. I also need to read and learn far more, Amen.
After all, this as I said above is not a lashing out at you time, it's about revealing the real truth, after all, one thing I know us human's hate it's being lied to and misled, and I have been, and no doubt so have many of you too, whether you are a Jehovah's witness or some other denomination, or splinter group that demands you must do this and that to be saved, and that you must only remain in that group, church to be saved. In fact any claim of you must stay in our, 'OUR' group, church to be truly saved, I'd be even more likely to be suspicious and want to check things out.
God bless ya, webmaster.

P.S. I visited the Watchtower web-site, and it makes a compelling case, but only if you don't read the scriptures before and afterwards. And of course they don't tell you those scriptures, like the one's above. In fact I just did a search, and sure enough they don't come up.
They totally miss the point, yes God is one, but in coming and taking human form, and here it is complicated, hence the mystery often referred to in the Bible, Jesus is born. Hence we have Son of Man, because of Mary, and Son of God, which again Jesus was more than happy to go along with.
In fact it never says that Jesus said, 'No quickly get up, you must not bow down to worship me, there is only one that must be worshipped'. No he allowed this, so what does that make Jesus then, either false, or the equal and thenfore God himself incarnate.

Matthew 2:11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 8:2  And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Matthew 14:33  Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Matthew 15:25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

What then though happened when a man did this to Peter:-
Acts 10:25  And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26  But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

Now hang on, if Peter knew what was right, he was a very wise man indeed, and what did Peter once say of Jesus:-
Matthew 16:16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Arghhhhhhhhhhh, quick run, that's right, Peter actually said He was the Son of the living God.

This testimony from someone who has been there with the JW's might be of some interest to you:-
