First before we get into the earthquake
that happened at around 1am gone in Northern England UK on 27th
February 2008
affecting people in areas such as, Yorkshire, Midlands and Wales,
can I point
something out.
Many today, even
Christians can mock, 'We've always had those things' when
referring to earthquakes and conflicts, but they surely missed the
point in what Jesus was meaning in Matthew 24:-
6 You will
hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren't troubled, for all
this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7 For
nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; (meaning
ethnic conflicts) and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes
in various places.
8 But all these things are the beginning of
birth pains.
Hey, a woman can't stay pregnant forever, the intensity soon begins to
build, then she knows she is about to give birth. Yes we have always
had them, but the point Jesus is making is that before I return they
will increase, hence the woman in labour being used as a term, with
increase in her contractions.
For more proof of this as I monitor the earthquake activity via sites
like USGS every day please click
here now.
The point that Jesus (God) was making is that there will be a time like
in Noah's and Lot's, see Luke chapter 17 and Luke 21 and Matthew 24, 2
Peter and so on that society and the earth will be groaning like mad.
Global
warming is for real, but caused more likely by the sun and not us
so much.
MY MOTTO has always been never take my word for it, do you r own
research. That is exactly what I do and so below we'll take a look at
the recent fairly big for the United Kingdom Earthquakes that have gone
on in the last few years, some you may be aware of and some you won't.
But the link above will show you loads all around the world since 2003
right up to date.
UK
shaken by 'significant' earthquake
A "significant" earthquake shook the UK in the early hours of this
morning, causing damage to buildings and leaving at least one person
injured.
The tremor hit at around 1am and was measured at 5.2 on the Richter
scale.
Its epicentre was near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, but the effects of
the quake were felt throughout the country.
As far away as Wales, Scotland and London, there were reports of
residents being woken from their sleep by the tremor.
(USGS has as 4.7 mag)
Previous Quakes in the UK
While the
British geological
survey has the tremor at 4.3 magnitude, while the USGS has it at 4.7
magnitude, my guess is somewhere inbetween. The key lies in the depth
of eathquakes as much as their magnitude.
Magnitude
4.7 - ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM
http://www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/recent_events/recent_events.html
An earthquake with a
magnitude of at least 4.3 has shaken parts of Kent, damaging buildings
and disrupting electricity supplies.
Emergency
services have received reports of structural damage including cracked
walls and fallen chimneys in Folkestone and nearby areas.
The
British Geological Survey said the tremor, which occurred at 0818 BST,
had its epicentre out in the Dover Straits.
It
said this was the largest UK quake since one in 2002 in the West
Midlands.
The
earthquake was reportedly felt as far afield as Essex, East Sussex and
Suffolk.
David
Booth of the British Geological Survey said the tremor, which lasted a
few seconds, was of a sizeable magnitude.
"It's
certainly the largest in the UK since an earthquake in Dudley in the
West Midlands in 2002 and that also caused damage. So this is a very
significant tremor."
Dr
Brian Baptie, also of the British Geological Survey, told BBC News 24
that the epicentre was seven miles (12km) south of Dover, out in the
English Channel.
Randy
Baldwin from the US Geological Survey, which monitors earthquakes, said
the tremor had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7.
Update:
Earthquake town assesses damage
Sunday, 29 April 2007, 04:14 GMT 05:14 UK
Hundreds of people in Kent are assessing the damage done to homes and
businesses by an earthquake.
Homes in Folkestone were evacuated and one woman suffered a neck injury
when the 4.3 magnitude tremor struck on Saturday morning.
Several families spent the night in emergency accommodation and police
said 38 homes had been assessed so far.
Beach huts in Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire, were cleared after a 1,000m
(3,280ft) crack appeared in the coast cliff.

Hurting Christians comments again:
I am 39 years old time of typing this and I had lived good 30 years
with nothing then in 2000 I experienced one, and then in 2002 as well,
two quakes well over 4 magnitude without 2 years. This latest one I did
not feel, living in Coventry, too far away, but I know what it feels
like, no nice. One in 2000 if memory serves me felt like speaker had
collasped in the corner of the room, difficult, was asleep. In 2002,
woke and swear I saw the bedroom door going all weird, moving out of
shape side to side, something like that, most scarey. It's amazing how
afterwards you think, no, impossible, could not move like that and be
all perfect again, surely. Below will be more detail on those quakes as
well as some others you may not have even been aware of.
Ever since Jesus left and promised to return people have mocked, in
fact it even mentions this in the Bible itself, nothing that the Bible
has not predicted right, trust me, what amazes me about God, it's
awesome.
2
Peter: 3 knowing this first, that in the last days mockers shall
come with mockery, walking after their own lusts,
4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the
day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from
the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of
old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word
of God;
6 by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with
water, perished:
7 but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word
have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of
judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8 But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with
the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count
slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the
heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be
dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are
therein shall be burned up.
But today you can finally find out the truth, like the lie of
evolution being taught for decades by people often who know the
daftness of it, but don't want to know or reveal the truth of creation
because then they'd have to admit there is a God and that without
accepting Jesus in their place will die and face judgement on what they
have done with their lives. Click
here now for evolution lie. If you think just leading a good life
gets you into heaven click

"It
was quite frightening. I never felt anything like it in my life before.
The chair seemed to rock and the floor seemed to come up a bit. The
secondary double-glazing also rattled."

quake measured 4.2 on the Richter Scale, the strongest since a tremor
measuring 5.1 was measured in Shropshire in April 1990. It lasted

Parts of Greater
Manchester have been rocked by an earthquake.
The tremor at 1150 BST on Friday affected Manchester centre, Reddish,
Didsbury, Failsworth and Denton.
Seismologists at the British Geological Survey (BGS), Edinburgh say it

The BGS say these tremors are not uncommon and there are eight or nine
a year in Britain. Manchester was hit by a series of tremors five years
ago.
A tremor which hit Manchester in late 2002, which measured 3.9 on the
Richter Scale, was 130 times greater than Friday's.
